Preserving Stuff at Home before Going to a Long Vacation
Going on vacation sounds super
fun, new places, new people, new culture, and a lot of natural sceneries to
view. Travelling is fun but there are
certain factors we need to take care of like planning the trip, booking tickets
and transportation, making reservations for lodging, and plans to start over
again after the vacation. Apart from all these issues, there’s one issue that
we really don’t care about while we live in a hostel or with our parents and
that is how to take care of the house when we are gone. There are many
solutions to it like hiring a person to keep the house clean, ask a favour from a friend to visit the house, or
just pack and cover things. I prefer to pack and cover rather than asking favours or spending money on cleaning people.
Below is the list of quick and easy ways to cover your things, to keeps them
clean, before going for long vacation.
Old Bed Sheets
The easiest way to keep your
house clean in your absence is to cover it with old bed sheets that you don’t
use anymore. You may not have old bed sheets stored in your house. In that
case, you can use the bed sheets you have for regular use and clean them later.
There are plenty of things which you can cover with bed sheets. You can cover
your entire house with your bed sheets but I’m sure nobody has that many bed
sheets. So you have to use those bed sheets carefully. My suggestion would be
to use them for things which you can’t cover with the below-listed items like
statues or couch etc.
Acid Free Tissue Paper
This trick comes handy for things
that you want to protect from dust and moisture both. It is cheaper and better
to buy from tissue paper wholesale. You can also opt for flower wrapping paper for
smaller products. You can wrap your art effects like paintings etc with it. You
can use acid free tissue paper for
covering anything.
Cupboard and Almira
This is something you should do
before travelling, as it won’t cost you a
penny, will only require a little of your time, and will keep your things safe
and clean. You can use the empty spaces to fill with things in Almira and Cupboards. The only drawback of this
option is that you can’t keep things which can get spoiled with time or can get
wrinkles.
Newspapers
It is the cheapest, inexpensive,
and easiest way to keep things clean. I prefer this method due to the fact that
when you return from the trip, all you have to do is to pick up or remove the
newspaper and send it for recycling. To cover things with the newspaper you
will need.
The tricks listed above are very
few, you can always innovate and come up with different ideas for the
maintenance of your house. You can opt for tissue or wrapping paper wholesale if you need them in much lower cost.
